On Day 3 of the Retreat, the stiffness in my neck was gone. The pain in my left shoulder was greatly reduced, from a scale of 7 to 3. I have not felt so relaxed for a long time. I was so happy that the pain on my right foot and the dampness bade goodbye on Day 7 as well!
Singapore Bodhi Meditation Centre
This is the second time I attended the 8.5D Health & Happiness Retreat. For the past 6 months, I was suffering from stiff neck and intermittent pain in my left shoulders. I reckon that these were probably due to my poor sleeping habit and long hours of working at the computer. I also experience pain on the sole of my right foot whenever I stand for more than 30 minutes. Hence for the past 3 years, I would endure such pain when I practised the Meditation of Greater Illumination (a standing meditation methodology by Master JinBodhi). Besides this, I usually could feel the dampness in my feet making my socks wet.
I was able to stand for 2 hours of practice in deep concentration.
Towards the end of the retreat, I went into spontaneous fasting, a phenomenal state of not feeling hungry with little or no food intake. My body, especially my limbs felt very light. I lost 3 kg over the 4 days and despite not eating, I felt very energetic and could even run to catch the bus.
Through these years of listening to Master’s dharma teaching, I realize that I have changed from an impatient person to one with a listening ear. I consciously remind myself to allow others to express their views and refrain from insisting that I am always right. Thank you Master for helping me improve my health and interpersonal relationships.
