In April 2017, my left knee became swollen and painful for no apparent reason. Since then, the swelling and pain persisted and will worsen if I walked or stood for about 1 to 2 hours.

In April 2017, my left knee became swollen and painful for no apparent reason. Since then, the swelling and pain persisted and will worsen if I walked or stood for about 1 to 2 hours. After several reviews, the specialist advised me to undergo a knee surgery but I did not want to.

Seeing my misery, one of my ex-colleagues recommended me to attend the Bodhi Meditation 8.5-Day Health & Happiness Retreat in July 2018. During the retreat, we would stand for up to 2 hours to practice “The Meditation of Greater Illumination”. Although some pain was felt on my left knee, I was surprised that the swelling was much less than what I usually experienced. I am hopeful that with diligent practice after the retreat, my knee problem would be further alleviated and that I can resume my hobby of shopping.

I also had been suffering from eczema for the past 3 years. I had to apply medication on various parts of my body daily to ease the itchiness. During practices, I noticed that the itchiness had reduced. Hence, I decided to stop the medication from Day 6 of the retreat. Thankfully, I did not feel any itch that entire day and even till now (Day 8 of the retreat)!

2017 年4月,我的左膝盖不知为什么开始肿了起来。从那个时候开始,我的脚肿痛的问题一直持续。只要我行走或站超过一到两个小时,还会变得更严重。专科医生经过多次复诊后,也建议我去动手术,可是我并不愿意。

就在这个时候,我的一位旧同事看到我的痛苦,便介绍我去参加2018年7月的8.5天健身班。在班上,我们常常连续站两个小时练“大光明修持法“。令我惊讶的是,虽然我的膝盖还是会有一点痛,可是却没有肿得像以前那么严重。我希望在完成健身班后,继续努力练功,能改善我脚肿痛的问题,那我就可以恢复逛街的嗜好了!

这三年来,我也有湿疹的问题,常常需要在皮肤上涂许多止痒药膏。在我参加健身班的时候,我发现我的皮肤没有那么痒了。因此在第六天时,我决定停止使用药膏。很感恩的,从那天开始,我的皮肤没有再痒了!
